1. Theme of the competition and methods of participation

The competition is open to cartoonists, illustrators and graphic designers from all over the world. You can request to participate out of competition. This request excludes the author from the awarding of prizes.
The theme of the competition is: SILENCE

Each author can participate with a maximum of 3 works (cartoon or strip) relating to the proposed theme in relation to man and the society in which he lives, seen from a humorous perspective. The works must be free of dialogue or jokes. They must also be unpublished (never published or participated in other competitions). The organization reserves the right to exclude from the awarding of prizes any works that have already been published.

2. Submission methods and deadlines

The works, together with the participation form with all the author's data (downloadable from the website) can be sent by 28/02/2024 via:

The works, in black/white or color created in any technique, must be in JPEG, PNG, GIF or PDF format, with 150 dpi resolution, in high quality, maximum size 3 MB. Files larger than this will not be accepted. The acceptance of the works, the selection and awarding of prizes is the exclusive responsibility of the Jury appointed by the Marostice Graphic Group. The Jury's decision is unquestionable and unappealable.

3. Sending original works and awarding prizes

The authors selected by the Jury will receive an email with instructions regarding the timing and methods of sending the original works which will then be displayed in the exhibition. In the case of works created exclusively with digital techniques, the author must send a copy of the work dated, numbered and signed. The works must arrive postage paid and without frames.
The Jury will award the "International Chessboard Grand Prize", the "Sandro Carlesso" Special Prize, the "Marco Sartore" Special Prize and 10 "Humorists in Marostica" Prizes. Any extraordinary prizes or mentions of merit will be assigned at the discretion of the Jury. The results of the Jury will be made known to all participating authors by email as well as published on the website https://www.umoristiamarostica.it/

4. Display and acceptance of the Regulations

The exhibition will be held from 4 May 2024 to 2 June 2024.
The selected authors will be sent a copy of the exhibition catalogue. All other participants not selected will be able to request the catalog by filling out the form on the website https://www.umoristiamarostica.it/.
The works selected for the exhibition and for the catalog will not be returned and will remain the property of the "Museum of Humorists in Marostica" Archive. The Marostice Graphic Group reserves the right to reproduce and disseminate the works through the press and/or other means of communication by citing the author with the words "da Umoristi a Marostica", without provision of any compensation. While ensuring maximum care of the works, we decline any responsibility for any damage or tampering during transport.

Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of these Regulations and expressly authorizes the Marosticense Graphic Group to process the personal data transmitted pursuant to the Code regarding the protection of personal data (G.D.P.R.2016/679/EU), also for the purposes of insertion in databases managed by the Group for carrying out the competition.
