From 1969... to today

From when the Competition was born to today, the social reality, both Italian and international, has changed profoundly. It was 1969 when a group of university students, in the wake of the 1968 movements, proposed a demonstration of "denouncement" not with protest signs, but with humorous cartoons. They chose graphics in the belief that it was an international language suitable for overcoming political, linguistic and cultural barriers. They added humor which for them meant not just making people laugh, but above all making them think, often launching a critical message about existence.

Nel corso del tempo la qualità delle opere, l’onestà d’intenti, la serietà e la qualità della giuria, la libertà delle scelte tematiche, l’indipendenza da strategie politiche e/o commerciali nonché la passione dei componenti del gruppo hanno fatto sì che il Concorso, dal 2014 divenuto biennale, si sia imposto tra i più importanti in Italia ed all’estero e che sia ancora molto apprezzato da artisti di tutto il mondo.
