The Contest

Since the foundation of the contest until today social reality, italian and international, has changed profoundly. It was 1969 when a group of university students, in the wake of the sisxty-eight movements, proposed a manifestation of “complaint” not with protest signs, but with humorous cartoons. They chose the graphics in the belief that it was ana international language suitable to overcome political barriers, linguistic and cultural. They added the humor that for them meant not just to make people laugh, but above all to reflect, often by laughing a critical message existence. Over time the quality of the works, honesty of purpose, integrity and quality of the jury, freedom of the thematic choices, independence from political and/or business strategy as well as the passion of the group members have ensured that the contest, became biennial since 2014, it was imposed the most important in Italy and abroad and appreciated by artists around the world.
